Watercolor sometimes brings happy accidents and surprises. If the water in the paint runs in a different direction as it dries, then the result is like a little flower bloom. Sometimes a watercolor painter can actually make these kinds of results, and sometimes the result just happens by itself. I call them happy accidents and was thrilled when one happened in this particular painting of Bird Rock cliffs. At the edge of the end of the cliff you can see how it sprayed upward to look like the waves were bursting up onto the land. How unique! I couldn’t have planned it better, it just happened and I’m happy about it! I love watercolor!
